February 8 Second Sunday
1-5 pm

The Frank Phillips Home will be hosting its "Second Sunday" activities on February 8th.  If you have not had a chance to see the DVD "Cowboys in Tall Grass"  by Ken Greenwood, the Home will be showing three segments:

2:00 pm - "The 101 Ranch"
2:45 pm - "Tom Mix"
3:30 pm - "Frank Phillips"

The Home will be open for tours from 1 to 5 pm.  Tour guides will be in 1910 style clothing.  The complete 6-episode D VD of "Cowboys in Tall Grass is available in our gift shop for $75 plus tax.

The Frank Phillips Home will be hosting a "Dessert" Fest" reception for adults interested in becoming a volunteer tour guide at the Home.

Do you have company in for Easter? Need something fun to do? Bring them for a tour of the Frank Phillips Home. We will be open 1 to 5 pm. Our staff will be in 1925 style clothing. The last tour begins at 4 pm.

Heritage Arts Day

See demonstrations of quilt making, lace making, needlework, and embroidery.  Dulcimer folk music will be ongoing as well as demonstrations on making prairie angels.
 
Auugst 8 Saturday

Today will be the last showing in 2009 of “A Moment in Time:  The Pastime Puzzles of Jane Phillips” exhibit featuring 26 very rare and collectible Pastime Jigsaw Puzzles dating from 1918 to 1943.  Admission is $5 for adults, $1 for children 11 and under.  These unique puzzles were hand-cut mostly by women and have been archivally framed for display purposes.  Topics include history, literature, fairytales, current events, pastoral scenery, international commerce, flower identification and children’s themes.  Hours for the exhibit are 10 am to 4 pm.  This event is sponsored in part by the Allied Arts and Humanities Council in cooperation with the Oklahoma Arts Council and the National Endowment for the Arts.
   
August 9 Second Sunday

The Home will host “Aunt Jane’s Old-Fashioned Ice Cream Social” from 2 to 4 pm.  Bring a lawn chair to put in the shade and visit with friends or listen to dulcimer and guitar music.  Free ice cream provided by the Jane Phillips Society.
   
September 13 Second Sunday

Spend an afternoon with
Dr. Seuss, Sunday September 13 at 2:00 p.m. on the lawn of the Frank Phillips Home.  Actor Tim Woods will delight both children and adults with his hilarious portrayal of Dr. Seuss characters as he recites these famous stories.  No admission fee.  Rain location will be the meeting room of the Bartlesville Library, 2nd floor.

Prairie Angel Workshop with Martha Ray

Make a prairie angel from wire and beads while learning about the fascinating history of this beautiful ornament and its role in the covered wagon trains.  Makes a beautiful gift!  Fee:  $10  all supplies are included.  Class is limited to 16, so make your reservations early!  336-2491, Ext. 103.  Class will be held in the Frank Phillips Home Garden Cottage.

Bring the kids to see Santa and Mrs. Santa in the Frank Phillips Home Garden Cottage and a camera to get some great photos!  No admission fee for this event.  Santa and Mrs. Santa are portrayed by Oklahoma Historical Society re-enactors, Brandon and Rachel Reid.

Christmas Evening Tours of the Frank Phillips Home.


Wander through the Mansion at your leisure and see it in all of its Christmas Splendor!  Bring the children to see our many varied Christmas Trees on display, especially our Children's Tree on the 3rd floor.  Talk with Father Christmas and his wife.  Charles Lee, will be playing Christmas carols and vintage popular music on the 1910 Weber baby grand piano. Admission fee:  $5 for adults, children 11 and under are free.
